Nguyễn Thị Thu Hiền, PhD(c) - Investment in Agriculture in Hai Duong Province - Some Measures to Attract Investment

Agriculture in Hai Duong Province is considered unattractive by investors. Over the past years, capital investment in agriculture makes up a small portion in the total social investment. The reasons include unfavourable investment environment, backward production methods, unsatisfied land dispute settlements, inappropriate policies and inadequate support for agriculture… In order to attract more investment, Hai Duong Province should take actions to improve its investment environment such as dealing with land issues properly, planning production zones synchronously, offering more government grants, increasing the quality of the resources and services and fostering promotion activities. In the first part of the article, the author briefly introduces the real situation of investment in agriculture in Hai Duong Province. The second part is about the obstacles in attracting investment in agriculture of the province. Finally, some measures to attract investment are recommended.

Vietnam Oil and Gas industry has been developing fast and it plays an important role in the national economy attributing the remarkable contribution of oil and gas construction and installation industry. In the current economic downturn, it is vital for enterprises  to find a new way or restructure to ensure efficiency. Vietnam Oil and Gas industry is not an exception. Identifying the impacts and coming up with appropriate solutions will help Vietnam Oil and Gas industry proper. The article has four parts: Part 1- Necessity of restructuring oil and gas construction and installation enterprises; Part 2 –Favourable conditions and difficulties in restructuring; Parts 3-4 -  Goals, direction and some measures to speed up restructuring Oil and Gas Construction and Installation Industry.

Vietnam remains a safe destination in the eyes of Japanese investors as the
Vietnamese economy continues to grow and integrate into the regional and global economies…Despite a decline in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Vietnam, Japanese businesses have continued to increase their investment into Vietnam, especially since mid 2011. In the first four months of 2012, Japan took the lead among countries and territories having newly licensed investment projects in Vietnam with over US$2.36 billion, accounting for 76 percent of the total amount of FDI registered in Vietnam in that period. It can be said that Vietnam’s success in attracting FDI from Japan is one of its remarkable achievements in the economy development and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Japan over the past years. As Vietnam has the potential of the market economy and a population of 84 million, Japanese investors can recognize a number of positive attributes in Vietnam, including abundant natural resources, a strong workforce, high level of education and low labour costs….  As a result, a wave of Japanese foreign investors enter Vietnam to seek and harness the business opportunities. The difference between Japanese FDI in ASEAN countries, including Vietnam and that in other areas in the world is that it serves both production for the domestic market and production for export.

4.      TS. Nguyễn Hoàng - Mô hình Marketing giáo dục 7P: Áp dụng tại các trường đại học Việt Nam

Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng - 7Ps Education Marketing Mix: Application in Universities in Vietnam

The article analyzes the real situation of training in universities in Vietnam by using 7Ps Education Marketing Mix. Each P is analyzed individually as an independent marketing strategy of each university, in which Product and People play the most important role. The article emphasizes that a combination of Ps will form a marketing strategy . Depending on its own resources, each university builds a combination of Ps (several Ps or all 7Ps) which characterizes its education marketing strategy.

5.      ThS. Hàn Minh Phương và ThS. Chử Bá Quyết - Thực trạng và giải pháp phát triển dịch vụ chứng thực chữ ký số trong các doanh nghiệp ứng dụng TMĐT ở Việt Nam.

Hàn Minh Phương, M.A and Chử Bá Quyết, M.A – Situation of Digital Signature Verification Service in Electronic Commerce Enterprises in Vietnam and Some Solutions

Digital signature verification service is both commercial and non-commercial, depending on the functions and missions of the service providers. Different from other services, it requires some special conditions in terms of technology and laws… Therefore, to develop this service, it requires not only the government regulations but also the participation of technology businesses in providing digital signatures. Especially, it is necessary to popularize digital signatures in various areas of society. The article evaluates the situation of digital signature verification in Vietnam in some major areas and proposes some solutions to develop this service in the coming time.

That international trade extends acts on largely the role and structure of industries. Stimultaneously, that the concept of supply chain have powerfully emerged and developed influences profoundly on developing trends of industries, specially port industry. The paper puts forward a new approach in studying port development that is port integration into supply chain. Thus, it proposes some solutions for port development in Vietnam.

        7. PGS.TS. Nguyễn Văn Hiệu - Áp dụng “sản xuất sạch hơn” - Một giải phát sử lý ô nhiễm môi trường hiệu quả và giúp các doanh nghiệp dệt may phát triển bền vững.

A/Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Văn Hiệu – Applying “Cleaner Production” – An Effective Solution to Control Environment Pollution and to Help Textile and Garment Companies Develop Sustainably

Since it was first introduced in Vietnam in 1995, the concept of “Cleaner Production”  has become more popular. It is crucial to have a deep insight into its principles to ensure the proper implementation of Cleaner Production in all the localities and enterprises.  Propagating the principles of Cleaner Production is one of the goals specified in the Cleaner Production Strategy in Industry to 2020 approved by the Prime Minister.

8.      PGS. TS. Phạm Thúy Hồng - Hiệu chỉnh marketing thích ứng với phân khúc người cao tuổi - Nhìn từ toàn cầu và kiểm nhận tại Việt Nam.

Better quality of life, high life expectancy and low birth rates are changing the global population structure. The percentage of elderly population (over 60) is growing fast thus forming a potential market segment with large purchasing power. The marketing programmes of the producers and retailers therefore are being changed accordingly when they wish to serve this market segment. The article describes some characteristics of the elderly consumer group and suggests a number of marketing trends in response to the elderly’s demand, then looks at the picture of elderly people in Vietnam and its potential.

Responsibility accounting is one of the fundamentals of management accounting. The model of responsibility accounting is regarded the weapon of big companies to help them maximize their resources, improve their competitiveness. For Vietnamese enterprises, management accounting in general and responsibility accounting in particular are quite new. It is therefore necessary for large scale companies and corporations whose organizational structure is involved in other agencies and individuals to study and apply responsibility accounting.

Over the past 30 years, our government’s  socio-economic reforms have made some progress. Socio-economic achievements in Vietnam affirm the great contribution of businesses and institutions to fulfilling the State’s missions such as hunger eradication, poverty reduction, environment protection… A new model is emerging as the third choice – full of potential. Originating from the real life, many social initiatives have been deployed on a basis of doing business to bring about more sustainable solutions to the community. It is known as Social Enterprise. Social Enterprise has become a world-wide movement. Many countries offer incentives to develop Social Enterprises by sharing the responsibilities with them to obtain more achievements in government’s goals. In our country’s context of fiscal tightening, economic restructuring, public debts and environment problems, it is important to promote Social Enterprises for a sustainable socio-economic development. With the existing problems of Social Enterprises in Vietnam, the author hopes to draw the experience in managing, developing and applying Social Enterprise model in the world to find out some solutions to develop it in Vietnam at present and in the future.
