Đỗ Phương Thảo, M.A  - Which Ways for Vietnamese SMEs at the Threshold in 2015

2011 is considered “the crisis eve” with tremendous upheavals and challenges for all economic sectors including Vietnamese enterprises. During the first half of 2012, Vietnamese enterprises, especially SMEs, have been influenced greatly by the economic changes due to the tightened spending of the consumers, even for the essential goods. Therefore, it is predicted that business will be stagnant, inventories increased and profits decreased remarkably. At the same time, a decline in ODA and export markets has also impacted on Vietnamese enterprises. Especially, in the age of brain competition, the lack of high quality human resource poses the greatest difficulty for Vietnamese enterprises. In 2015, the challenges for Vietnamese SMEs will multiply when Asean community is formed. At that time, the member countries will export their goods to Vietnam massively. Therefore, Vietnamese SMEs should take immediate actions to become adaptable to the markets where the competition is getting fiercer and fiercer.

10. PGS.TS. Phạm Thị Tuệ - Xuất khẩu Việt Nam năm 2011 - Thực trạng, nguyên nhân và tác động.

Export growth is an index to demonstrate the productivity and competitiveness of the economy, therefore it is always the goal which economies drive towards. 2011 was evaluated as a successful year of Vietnam exports when export turnover increased strongly amid the context that the world economy had scarcely recovered from the crisis but encountered natural disasters and widespread public debt. Despite the considerable achievements, Vietnam economy proved less competitive when output slowed down. The article seeks the explanation for this paradox. It starts from analyzing the fluctuations in the world demand, causes of increased export revenues and their impacts on domestic production. The analysis shows that higher export growth is not always necessarily a good sign for the economy.
